                Who I am

Born in Coahuila, Mexico, Graduated from  Adams State University in May 2015. I graduated with a Bachelors of Arts degree with emphases in Graphic Design, Photography, Art History and a minor in Spanish. I constantly look to improve my skills as a female artist. I always like using my voice and express myself throughout my artwork. What defines me is that I am very pasionate about my culture and the power to know that I can make a difference by creating something that will change peoples mind.

                                                                                                My Artwork Speaks

Art is a big and meaningful word. Art is in peoples’ everyday lives. They can see the beauty in life through figures, shapes, and objects. Anybody can create art, because everybody has a way to express him or herself. Art comes to life because it comes from a real person and always has meaning behind it. This meaning also plays an important role in creating art because it expresses history.

There are a lot of ways to create art such as: painting, sculpture, drawing, ceramics, and printmaking. There is also photography, graphic design, film video, multimedia works, computer art, and projected imagery. It doesn’t matter what media you use, and you just need people who can inspire you so you can inspire others. When it comes to freedom of expression, I look to Frida Kahlo as my inspiration, because through her paintings she depicted her everyday life struggles.

As an artist, I work hard to develop all kinds of artwork that speak both to me as well as others about the hope, beauty, and non-perfection that exist. It is challenging when you want to express yourself and must deal with how other people judge or interpret your artwork. Part of my process before I begin creating an artwork is reading, researching, and being opened minded about how to create the specific set. The peoples voice comes through my artwork with out barriers to cross. To do this I use various types of medias. It can be difficult because I want it to be perfect but I know that is not going to be and that is called art.

I consider my art unique because I express myself as well as others to make their voice heard. People ask me “Why do you choose art instead of becoming a lawyer? Why are you doing this for others and not yourself?” My answer for them is that they motivate me to create my art because they show that their voice is real. My art means a lot to me. It can be my voice, goals, a way to express myself, and a way to make people look at the world differently. My art is a way to show a moment, the beauty of nature, happiness and my everyday life. I try to inspired people with the beauty of amazing colors. My art can be hope for many people. Every time I finish an artwork I try to breathe in a long forgotten culture so that its designs, ideas, innovations, and life styles are displayed. I want to give that society life once more.
